A New Medical Home for the Needy
Beneficiary: Irving Interfaith Clinic
In 2011, donors gave and then IHF granted $262,000 to allow for 2,400 patient visits by Irving's neediest and uninsured residents. Irving Interfaith Clinic, the city's only free clinic for medical and dental care, moved to 1302 Lane St. and is a "medical home" for even more patients in 2012.
Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT)
Beneficiary: Baylor Medical Center at Irving
Because donors gave $540,000 in 2011, Baylor Irving has installed Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT) equipment. This equipment will be used to enhance treatment planning for all 265 patients who come to the hospital after receiving a cancer diagnosis. More than 130 of these patients will get stronger, more effective radiation therapy using IGRT.
Nursing Education
Beneficiary: Baylor Medical Center at Irving
Gifts from contributors help health care providers attend conferences to improve patient care. Micky McDaniel, BSN, PN, PCCN is a great example of that. Micky attended a national healthcare improvement conference in Orlando, Florida. He presented a poster about "Saving Lives in Dialysis" so other U.S. hospitals could learn about the best care practices that he developed at Baylor Irving. More than $117,000 was granted last year for education. It's important because advanced learning equals enhanced care for 110,000 patients each year at Irving's only nonprofit hospital.
Special Needs Children
Beneficiary: Our Children's House at Baylor-Irving
Thirty children with special needs receive childcare and therapy at Our Children's House at Baylor-Irving. In 2011, IHF raised and granted $355,256 for financial aid to families. Funds granted also helped install a safer, soft-surface playground. If you gave to OCHI, you're helping these children realize maximum ability so they can begin school at age 5.
A Great Reason to Smile

Beneficiary: Irving Dental Center
Fluor Corporation gave $10,000 to improve the dental health of Irving's neediest residents. The dollars granted funded both prevention and treatment services at the Irving Dental Center, which is located inside the Parkland-Irving Health Center.
