Help Us Grow is an annual giving club to benefit Our Children's House Baylor-Irving (OCHI). By giving at least $1600 each year, you are giving the equivalent cost of care for one child at OCHI for one month. OCHI is a unique facility full-day child development program that provides onsite speech, occupational and physical therapy at a minimal cost to parents.
If you have children, you know how costly it is to provide even basic needs. Can you imagine the financial impact of bringing home a child from the hospital with a mountainful of medical bills and everyday special needs? This facility not only helps shoulder that burden but does it with love and specialists to not just maintain - but improve the quality of care the child receives.
Taylor's Story
|
|
When Taylor was diagnosed as an infant with spina bifida, we (Taylor's parents) struggled to find a child car e center that could accommodate her special needs including weekly physical and occupational therapy sessions. Finding Our Children’s House at Baylor – Irving (OCHI) was a true blessing to our family.
The program is the most comprehensive that we found with integrated therapy, a full-time nurse and onsite social services. We are thankful for the peace of mind that OCHI is providing Taylor with safe, loving care from staff that specialize in working with children with needs like hers.
Taylor has really blossomed over the past few years and is now in the Preschool class. With the help of Baylor physical and occupational therapists that visit the school and OCHI staff, Taylor has transitioned from using a walker to walking with canes, and OCHI has offered additional support in our roles as parents through monthly parent support groups and educational workshops.
With OCHI’s support, Taylor has met each new developmental goal with eagerness and determination.
